Oil Regulator to trombone coil

Can anyone tell me if this regulator has a thermostat in it? I ran the car and the pipes to the regulator were hot (burnt fingers) but the lines to the trombone were cold. I wasnt quite at 190 so wondered if some valve wasnt opening. I also noticed a small king in one line (looks like someone put a jack in the wrong place:-() but doesnt appear so kinked as to be a blocking factor. Now those lines to the regulator are close to the engine and I guess their temperature could be engine heat transfer?

I hope to get out for a long run today to get to 200+ and then retest front but may as well know if the regulator could be a culprit

thanks

It should open at ~190F. If you were not at 190F, then that could be why.
