Totally inspired by Singer is an understatement and I wouldn’t dare say a bit more aggressive than Singer as Paul? the owner claims. Now that is out of the way. It appears to be a very nice porsche for $150k +/-

No way that car would exist without the Singer having been created

Like everything else in life you get what you pay for...

I'm sure Theon Design do a decent job but the Singer is now an established car.

And anyway, if I had that sort of money to burn I'd be looking at the current RUF offerings.

One look at the interior and, frankly, every other detail (engine bay anyone?) and you'll see that this is a far cry from a Singer. Is it a beautiful restromod inspired by Singer? Yes. Is it equivalent to a Singer in detail, fit and finish, power, looks etc? No.

It's fine, I would love to have one, but I don't get the bravado in the video trying to say it's better when it's clearly not.

The 964 engine vs an Ed Pink? don't make me laugh.

Hands down the RUF for me, if I was in that strata.

I'm not a big fan of backdating everything and RUF has been doing this for a looong time.

I think their new offering is breathtaking, tho I do prefer the 'classic' RUF wheels. And to my understanding, is less expensive than the Singer?

I love my old air cooled car and all, and I'm glad these exist, but for that kind of money I'm getting a brand new GT3.

Lol people talking about Theon 911 like it is some sort of shade tree mechanic build while it is in every way a top quality build.
What sort of detail in the interior is that does not compare at all to Singer?

The RUF, Singer, and Theon are all amazing builders. We have a local shop in Chicagoland that’s also made a beautiful restomod. Old school styling with modern touches make for a beautiful combination!

Did you watch the video?

Also, if you haven't seen a Singer in person, it is just something else. Every single component of the car has the same level of crafting care as a fine watch.

I'm glad we've got more choices @ more affordable levels, mind you, again RUF has always been top pick for all points

Agree, the Ruf is a complete different beast.

This British low $ attempt at Singer is just that, an attempt.

Despite egregious claims that the cars are better for less, one brief close glimpse proves such an ignorant statement surely isn’t accurate...

Pelican used to be a diy forum for people building their own dream car. Now it's bickering over singer vs theon. I'm gonna go fiddle with my $25k 911...

I continue to evolve my dream car but have to say the Theon seems to be nothing other than a cynical, cheaper and, therefore, lower quality copy of Singer. It does not move things on or in another direction.

Yes. The company owners should concentrate on building their own brand identity, being a 'cheaper clone' is always a tough sell at the top of the market.

Does it have all the Motorsport wiring and detailing? No. Does it have a full carbon body? No. Does it have the ed pink engine? No.

It's a fine looking car, but it's not a singer and theon should carve out their own niche without even mentioning singer.

Matt, your comment made me laugh. That is 99% of us here. It is fun to look and discuss the goings on in our niche community though. I think the title of this thread is funny too. "Theon Design is the British Singer, for much less" Rob Dickenson is British, ergo, Singer is the British Singer period. Sure it's an American company, but if TV show hosts want to get nationalistic then they can claim Dickenson as the mastermind to Singer (which he is).
