Seventh Annual NY/NJ/CT/MA/PA/DE/MD/VT/NH Thanksgiving Weekend Rallye
Fellow Porsche Nuts:
After a year of waiting, a year of wrenching, a year of driving and a year of what ever it is you do in your free time... Its back and its better than ever the 2017 Saturday after thanksgiving, escape your inlaws, beat the snow, pray for sun, end of season Porsche driving extravaganza. My cars are once again down and in need of repairs, as of now I think I have a ride worked out but if it falls through I may need to bum a right seat from someone (preferably leaving from and returning to Playland) We have had great turn out in years past and I would love to keep that going so spread the word to your Porsche buddies and lets keep the tradition alive. F.A.Q (questions I have gotten in the past and have answers to) - This is a free event, there is no sign up, just show up - This has always been a free event I have no intention of changing that. - Traditionally this has been a Porsche Only Event. - We are not responsible for what you do during the day. The law is the law, the Rally does not endorse speeding or reckless behavior, this is a fun event and there is no winner. - All plans will be updated on this original post so please check back here for info - You can spread the word to all Porsche owners you know including local PCA chapter, the more the merrier. - This is not a PCA event and I would like to keep it that way, the PCA has many rules about their events, not all of which this conforms to. BUT feel free to bring your PCA buddies along and spread the word at your next meeting. Details (the tentative route). Im going to keep the route more or less the same as always, its not necessarily the best nor the worst but its manageable and has some solid driving. If you have suggestions send me a PM and ill consider them. If anyone wants to put it on their official calendar here is the FB event https://www.facebook.com/events/538094273192721/ Date: 11/25/17 (the Saturday after thanksgiving) Starting Location: Rye Playland Starting Time (Leaving for first leg): 8:00 AM Local time Route: https://goo.gl/maps/PPtEMrbETv22 First Stop: Arrival: 8:45 Leaving: 9:15 Off exit 13N on the Palisades in the staging lot (same place as last year). Second Stop: Arrival: 11:45 Leave: 12:15 ShopRite at 10A NJ-23, Montague Township, NJ 07827 Last Stop: Lunch will be at the carriage house again they seem to have ample parking and seating Address: 3351 NY-97, Barryville, NY 12719 If anyone gets lost along the way (or only wants to come for lunch) please feel free to head straight to the lunch spot, or meet us there. I really really want to do this but it’s a bit of a hike.

I guess I could get up at 5AM and make a road trip out of it. I’m sure I’ll be sick of my in-laws by Saturday anyway.
I just did an admirable job of fixing my headlights by jamming a flathead into the high beam assembly so I should be good for an early morning drive.

Talked to the wife. I'm in. This will be the longest drive I've done with the 911 since the day I bought it over five years ago when I drove it home from Richmond, Virginia.
I look forward to meeting you all.

Perfect timing! I'll be driving my dad home (Wantage, NJ) that day so why not incorporate the run. This is probably my favorite run of the year so please count us in.

Dave,
It would be a good idea to contact the "Carriage House" and let them know a large group will arrive for lunch the day of the run. Last year we caught them off guard and they weren't prepared for such a large group. Also, they would probably open the dining area instead of the bar room. |
