I thought there might be some interest here on this car.

Im interested but I think i'm about $1.2 mil short. Beautiful car. Always liked that livery. My fave is the Copenhagen Brumos 962. Not the most competitive 962 but one of the meanest looking.

will they take a check?

I wonder what the car payment would be.

those cars look SOOO much better than the new P types now. I was watching an IMSA race the other day and wishing the 962's and 935's were back

5 year loan is about $2.2 million a month- might need to brown bag lunches to save money!

Actually, it's about $23k/month. Very affordable.

I didn’t tell you what my interest rate was! I like your math better. Thanks for the correction

When I was a kid, this was one of the First race cars I ever fell in love with. For me, it was Bruce Canepa's privateer one, Half White and half Fluorescent Orange with a cool fade in the middle. Dad got me a t-shirt he made with the car on it, and 8 year old me wore out that t-shirt in like 6 months.

This was recently written up in Panorama. Good bit of history. https://www.pca.org/panorama/edition/panorama-september-2017

I think there might have been more than one in Akin's hands. That one above looks like a twin-turbo, while the one for sale in the OP is a single turbo?

EDIT: both stellar nonetheless! And agreed, some awesome history!
EDIT2: looking at the pics again, it is hard to tell...maybe the one in Panorama is missing some parts?
EDIT3: how's about, I have no idea what I'm talking about! LOL! The intake manifolds in the more naked car threw me off, but I see the single turbo car uses the same/similar.

It seems to me that Pelican user VZ935 had a couple of Akin's cars...

After pulling the Sept '17 Panorama out of my archives, I think you are correct. At any rate the chassis numbers in the article and the one advertised are not the same.

Awesome driving, Mike!!! Always a blast to watch your in car cam. I think you were a champion Trans Am racer, in another life!!! You and that Mustang WERE the race, in that session! Once you massaged that delicate flower of a transmission, nobody had a chance against you!

Thanks Pat, good fun in the historic IMSA GTO/GTP group.
Visit us this Reunion in the IMSA GTO pits.

Always patient behind or passing another gentleman racer in a 962 or any GTP car with respect to their limited side and rear vision.
