Tea Tray Rubber to Carrera Rubber
Can the Tea Tray that came factory on an '82 SC have it's rubber swapped out for the later Carrera tail rubber? If so, is it bolt and unbolt with the same pattern? I've searched and can't seem to find a definitive answer or what the Carrera rubber tail part # is for sure that will cleanly swap out.

Nope. I’ve tried it and it wasn’t even close...

There's a Video on YouTube, a guy with a Turbo Carrera retrofits standard Carrera rubber to his existing Tea-Tray spoiler. He wanted a unique look.
It wasn't a direct fit but he drilled two additional holes, covered by the rubber, and he made it fit. Quite interesting and a mornings project for him. Looked pretty cool too. I'll look for the link

The tail base shapes are slightly different. When we installed the Carrera rubber on a turbo tail base, we found that there was a difference on the bottom edge of the rubber. The thickness of the rubber was less than the Turbo version being replaced. The upper deck was okay. So if you don't mind the stepped difference on the bottom, go for it
