Burning oil
PORSCHE 1984 3.2 CARRERA.
Have not started car for a year ,when i lasted started it was fine.This took ages to start when i finally got it going it smoked out of the exhaust for about 20 minutes,It smelt like burning oil.When i checked oil in tank with dip stick there was no oil in there,.After 20 minutes when smoked stopped smoking the oil tanks was up to the dipstick and all ok. Any ideas why oil tank was empty,Does it drain into crankcase over time and then a a bit gets into bores which is why it was smoking Running ok at moment except for hunting on idle which was there last time i started it not sorted that out yet |

Yes, it drains into the case and smokes.

You should be fine. My 77 911s would smoke for awhile when left dormant for about 4 months.
