Getting ready to start, battery? Kill switch?
 

Hi everyone, I've been working on my '84 cab for a long time, and I'm getting really close to juicing it up and starting. I've built a pretty elaborate pre-oiling rig to soften the blow. I haven't hooked it up yet, just have a few extra things I need to get.
First, battery. Going through past threads really lead me nowhere, just too many options. I just want something durable right now. I'm probably going to have to use it extensively. Hopefully not, but just to be safe. I have a few extra starters.... I can throw together a mount, so exact fit isn't required, nor weight, it's a cab.
Battery prices are nothing to joke about, I want to get good quality, really good amp hours? At these prices, you would think you would at least get a reach around....
Also, I am really interested in a kill switch. But, recently, I've seen a few detractors regarding them. I'm a bit weary of not having one because of the previous fire, and it's a completely new harness. I've also read that you have to be particular about which switch you buy, some are low grade. For a battery I would go with a sealed battery like an Optima Red top. I have run 3 in various P cars with no issues. Lead acid batteries have the potential to leak or boil over and create issues.

No help on kill switches.

One way to kill engine is to turn fuel pump OFF... Engine dies quickly. Is simple matter to wire switch from dash area into fuel pump wire near fuse panel. Am sure there are more elaborate/smart kill solutions than this.
