Fuse Out - Why does radio and clock STILL work w/ ignition on?

Hi. I pulled fuse #4 which I thought would completely disable the clock and radio; however, when I turn the ignition on they both receive power and operate. I am curious as to why and if it is normal? I have attached a few pictures with the yellow 5amp fuse removed and one can see, there is a metal jumper bar going from fuse #2 to #3, and one from #3 to #4. The radio and clock do not operate when the ignition is off with #4 removed, and it is clear that when the ignition is off the radio is not getting any power as the radio's theft light does not function and it codes out each time the car is turned off. (I did not take note if interior lights behaved similarly.) I had originally pulled the fuse since I was putting the car away for five weeks and wanted to reduce the ambient amp pull of the clock and radio, but forgot to pack a wrench to pull the negative battery terminal. The 911 is a stock 89 Carrera 3.2 and everything works as designed. Thanks for any input.

why not just get a "green knob" .... makes life a lot easier..

clock and radio should just be about 15ma anyway.

I don't have my resources near me, but I did a search on a similar year car as your and the radio is powered both by the 15 bus and the 30 bus. This means one connection is hot all the time and one is switched through the Run/Start positions of the key switch.

My info source:

I am guessing the clock has two power sources going to it too. One for the lights inside.

Radio.

If it might help, I have the factory manual for the M/Y 86.
