I am going to replace some of the oil lines on the rear of my engine, such as the one from the oil breather. Can I get away with using non-Porsche parts here or no. Also if I can use other lines what should I look for? Does this line get hot?

A hydraulic hose shop should be able to help you here. The fittings on the Pcar are a bit more fine thread than what would be used in most industrial metric applications, so they may have to order some in. I did this for a flexible hose I used in my SSI install/oil line backdate. Make sure you price it out first though as you may find having custom bent hard lines may be $$$.

Thanks but the lines I am talking about are the small ones (no fittings)they have a hose clamp on them. I can't find a pic on this site or on my PET, but is the small hose 1" diameter approx, that attaches to the oil breather, the other one is very small and it is the drain for the airbox. Shawn |
