Slantnose Question

I know there is a bunch of threads about the Authenticity of Slantnose Porsche’s. I’m just trying to get a definitive answer( so please bare with me)

I have 1985 911 from Europe.
It’s a non-turbo slantnose ( which I guess is fairly rare so I’m skeptical )
It has a steel front end.
Single motor for the headlights
Oil cooler in passenger vent
Wooden inserts for the vents
It’s doesnt have the boxed rockers that extend past the door. They are the standard ones that are flush with the door. ( they still have the jack points)

I’ve been searching the forums like crazy and haven’t found anything. If you guys or gals have any insight it would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Slant

Hi James,

A few things.

1. Order a COA from Porsche
2. If it's a special wishes or M491 it should have Turbo suspension which put the rear
brake
calipers behind the brake disc where a Carrera would be in front.
3. The pop-up headlights would share a motor and have a rod across the front
between the lights.
4. I would imagine that it would have the boxed rockers.
5. The strakes on the real car are a composite material often confused with wood.

PICTURE IS A MUST !

Scott

Thanks Scott for the reply!

I’ll definitely look into the COA, I just thought the codes weren’t presented for the slantnose until 1987.

Yes it has a single motor connecting both headlights.
The brake calipers on the back of the vehicle are positioned to the front.

Nice Targa James,

Someone probably did an expensive modification to their taste!
