Cleveland Ohio help
Can anyone recommend a shop that wants to work on vintage Porsche’s. Need some place with talent figuring out running issues. Prefer the east side or surrounding area. Thanks and regards dave

CIS troubleshooting..........
Quote:
Dave, Do you enjoy working on your cars? If you do, I will be more than happy to assist you in your CIS troubleshooting. If you have the interest and motivation to work on your CIS car you could do it. There is really nothing sophisticated or difficult in making your CIS engine run like it should. All you need is some guidance to get started and get familiar how the system works. First, you need a pressure gauge. This is a mandatory tool for fuel injection troubleshooting. Your willingness to learn and follow basic procedures will help you and solve whatever problems you are having now. Contact me anytime. Tony |

However I don't know people there. Just the reputation. If you get a glowing recommendation on a certain person, that's money in the bank. I think Bphawk1 is on the far east side. All you have to do is drive the nine hours to Avon Lake. ![]() Betting it would be worth it if you don't want to fiddle as Tony suggests.

It is worth the drive from east to west. It is like going to your favorite restaurant on the other side of town. Good food .... People will travel. Chris has done well by me as he rebuilt my whole motor and transmission along with a cosmetic restoration on the motor I.e plating the tidbits. I wish I knew how to upload pictures as I would post some for you to see. The motor is going to be installed next week along with the fine tuning. Can't wait!!!!! P.S I just noticed on the bottom of this post that you can upload pictures. I guess I will to wait for my college son to come later tonight from summer break to show me how it's done. Lol |

It will be a cake walk for him. Just have your pics in a folder on your computer and click "Go Advanced" Then there are options for uploading a photo.

I second the recommendation for Chris at Autobahn. He is really knowledgeable and does great work. He is worth the travel time. Only issue with Chris is last I knew he is a one man shop. Great for quality control but bad for a quick turnaround. I could not get into him and had Steinels do an alignment - as I do most of my work myself. They were great and have a great reputation. Can't go wrong with either.

I would recommendation Steinel's as well, as they have done a lot great work on my cars when I lived in NE Ohio. The owner recently sold the shop to one of the technicians, so I don't know how that may have affected operations (if at all). Perhaps you can contact the local PCA region (NORPCA) for feedback.

I heard as well that Eric from Steinel's sold there shop to one of his tech's. Chris is a one man shop but he can control the quality of workmanship. His turn times have been great but it depends what your having done to your car. Some repairs take a bit longer as to the task involved but he fixes it right the first time and you are done. Very satisfied.
