Delete clock for volt meter

I would like to delete my clock for a volt meter. I found a plug for the hole but with shipping it works out to around US$40.00. Since I am going to cut a big hole in the plug it seems like a big waste. Has anyone come up with a cheaper solution? I am going to hit the big hardware stores to see if I can find anything. BTW, I am going to keep the clock, it works great and if I change my mind one day, I can put it back in.

If you do a search, this has been brought up before. Some have left the clock in place and put the voltmeter elsewhere. Plus other options.

I thought about using a bad stock clock as a housing. Fit a smaller volt meter inside the dead clock. well, I have not have time to do it yet

You can get a volt meter that plugs into your cigarette lighter....or replace your lighter with a USB port with volt meter.

I like having the cigarette lighter so I can use a tire inflator.

So, I replaced my brake and seat belt warning light with a USB charger with volt meter.

All of the above can be found on amazon.

The longer story is that I put the gas and oil gauge over where the clock used to be, and put an AC vent on the far left.

I use one that fits in the cigarette outlet and even comes with a USB outlet.

Just purchased a cigarette lighter volt meter/USB charger on smile.amazon.com for $15 and free same-day delivery. What a world we live in!

I have to be honest, i surfed north hollywood speedo's website for about 30 minutes and almost decided to have my tacho rebuilt with an additional voltmeter added to it. Then i recalled that I'm not made of money and went with the $15 option mentioned above!
