SC rear MC brake light switch
Good day! I'm having a fit trying to remove the rear (closest to firewall) MC brake light switch. I can get the 24mm deep well socket over it but no room to put the socket wrench on it. With brake lines, to tight to put crescent wrench on it. A shorty socket won't work due to the electrical plug on the backside of it. I'm tired of not having brake lights - any suggestions please?
thanks- |

Yup—sorry I can’t remember the metric size
And don’t just replace one do them both. I have never had to bleed my brakes after replacing the MC switches albeit some will say to do it. You will only loose a drop or two. Ernie Last edited by emac; 09-09-2018 at 04:13 PM.. |

A box end wrench worked for me. Maybe even an offset box end wrench.

I had a friend some years ago that had a problem with the brake lights on his SC that went out on his track car. He and asked me to look at it, an if I remember correctly both of the switches on the MC are wired in parallel for the rear brake lights. I replaced the front switch that was easy to get to, and then had him put in LED brake lights which were more durable for track use than the filament bulbs, and they also had the added benefit of less current draw on that MC brake light switch, which should make it last longer as well. Just a thought if it helps.

Thank you all. Open end wrench did it, but a PITA it was. Nice to have brake lights again...
