Assembling Euro H4's

Just bought a set of euro H4's from local porsche guy.

They came brand new in boxes but aren't assembled. I have sugar scoops on my 911sc so I can't really compare them to see how to assemble the euro H4's.

Does anyone have a closeup pick of their H4? Where do the "7" clips go? Between the reflector and trim ring?

What do these screws do?

Thanks

the screw is the final one to fix the headlamp when set in socket.
sits at bottom, through ring.

#2 is the seal between fender and headlamp (#3 is the seal from glass to head lamp frame).

8A is a paint ring you can place over #8, so just ignore it

8 would be the chrome ring.
8a is the optional painted cover ring.

The lens uses a gasket. So I'm guessing thats what 2 is.

This is all quite interesting as I also have H4's in my sc. What I'm concerned with is what's involved in replacing the bulbs. Does the complete bucket assembly have to be removed to replace the bulb?

these spring brackets clip in quite logically and only one way. when setting in place they do overlap each other a little. they maintain the outir ring to the frame.

read this?

Yes, the light assembly has to be removed from the fender as there is no access from behind. However, once the light is out, it's just the single clip in the back that must be opened to remove the bulb and then re-installing the light using the single screw at the bottom to secure it.

Hard to tell from your picture but it looks like you may be missing the adjustment tabs. the long machine screws have this 90 degree tab looking thing that then inserts into a rubber grommet so you can adjust the floating bucket from the inside in the vertical and horizontal axis. Anyone like my that's done it a few time can do it in their sleep but it's much easier to show than to explain. I take mine out twice a year since I insist on having yellow lenses that won't pass inspection, I replace the lenses with clear ones to get the sticker every year.

Thanks Kevin, so if I understand correctly there is only the one screw at the bottom of the ring that has to be removed in order to remove the headlight bucket. Is that correct?

If the rings around your lights are panted body colour, those are probably just the painted trim rings which are still held on by that screw at the bottom. So don't be surprised when that ring separates from the headlight when you go to remove them.

The aiming screws are also hidden under that cover.

Hugh — be sure to read up on issues folks have had when installing these headlight assemblies for the first time, can be a challenge to get the assembly secured onto the top rim AND screwed in properly on the bottom - some have even found themselves driving over their lights after hitting a bump. Fwiw

Thank you Darren. My SC came equipped with H4's and I'm hopping to upgrade to 100/80 watt bulbs once I complete the added relays needed to lighten to load on the switch gear and I wanted to be sure how to go about replacing the bulbs.

Here some pictures, I hope those help to assemble your headlights.
From your picture I assume you have most of the parts.
I do not see three rubber tubings that hold the reflector to the grey bucket and the adjusters. Apparently the lens has the rubber gasket. I do not see the rubber gasket that goes between the fender and the headlight.
The screw you show is to hold the headlight to the fender. That screw is used with a small screw to hold a trim ring that goes outside of the chrome ring, you do not have that trim ring. The last pictures show that trim ring and the small screw.
