Ignition coil
Having checked for spark and finding none, I am confused as to the options for a new coil. Feed back on th Bosch coils is not good, made in Brazil, stay away. What are my options for a 1974 2.7 coil?
Thanks |

I think the MSD Blaster or best derivative is fine. They have different names but a pretty conventional coil with favorable remarks. I have had mine for 15 years.
However, let other folks validate.

I used an MSD Blaster with my Permatune for a good while without issues.

I learned the hard way, (three Bosch coils left me stranded). John Walker suggested either finding a 30yr old Bosch black coil (stay away from new silver versions) or buy the MSD blaster. I just had a blaster installed and works fine, but not many miles on it yet.
Another Pelicanite offered to sell an old black one to me, try reaching out to him, OSI930. Good luck!

Parts KlassiK and Classic Retrofit have replacement coils for CDIs. These look like the original ones and have good reviews on Pelican.

The one you want is the "High Vibration Blaster II"
Take the sticker off it and it looks like a old black Bosch coil. |

Would the MSD Blaster Coil also be recommended for a 79SC with the stock ignition box and set up?

mount the coil right side up, not upside down.
I had a special coil wire made to mount mine
