Backdating: Left Heat Duct Fitment

I am backdating my 1984's heat. I bought a left heat duct from our host. The bottom and side bolt to the fan holes line up. The problem is a 1 inch gap on the back. Did I just get a bad part from our host? Is there a better product out there? I don't think any amount of hammering and bending can fix this. Thoughts?

Here is my 1985

This is part number 930.106.321.02.0EM purchased from Pelican a few years ago. IIRC, I had to bend some of the metal flanges to get a nicer fit.

Thanks SpyderMike---the pictures are very helpful. It looks like I'll order that. Not sure why that didn't come up when I did a parts search.

Yes, pmax---that is the exact part I ordered. Why do you say it doesn't look like mine? Is it because mine looks grey? That is just the lighting.

Oh I see the difference. Mine does look different. The part in the picture has a pronounced concave area for the distributer. ... looks like they sent the wrong one. I'll call the host. Great eye pmax

I used to cut a section out of an early duct and weld in a curved piece. Cheaper.

I got the OEM version that SpyderMike suggested. It was a much better fit. I did need to do a little bending with pliers, but much better quality an fitment.

I wish I had the welding skills to make my own.
