Help needed - Rear caliper removal?
Hi,
I am removing the rear calipers from alloy trailing arms. The lower bolt is a tight squeeze for open end wrench (19mm). I expect this requires a special tool. Which tool do I need? Thanks Rich |

Rich:
Working from the top use a 3/8" drive and breaker bar to break the bolt loose than removet the rachet and use an open end. That worked for me.

I just had to use lots and lots of strength using a box end wrench pointing down. I didn't have a breaker bar that would fit (only 19 mm socket I had was 3/8" drive and my breaker bar is 1/2")

Rich:
Use a rachet, I did. No need to buy the bar.

Best I Found
I did the same job last fall.
Bought a bunch of angled box end wrenches to try to get the right angle to get at it. Stuff ranging from Huskey (Home Depot) to Craftsman (Sears) and Stanley (Wal Mart). The Stanley angled box end wound up being just right to get in there and crank on the bolt. Nice to add that it was also the cheapest set available for around $19 for a set of 4. Gordo
