CIS runners and WUR removal

If I remove my CIS at the runners, how is the WUR involved?

I understand I need to disconnect electrical and somewhere the fuel line to it.
Does it need to come out to get to the nuts holding the #2 runner on?

78’ SC no lambda/O2 sensor

Also is there a trick to the electrical disconnect?

This pic from a DIFFERENT car (79 SC I think) seems to show a WUR attached to the runner.

WUR removal..........

Mike,

There are two (2) mounting bolts (Allen type) securing the WUR to the intake runner #2. The electrical plug has a spring lock and you need to use a pick or tiny screw driver to unlock it from the groove. The different connections to the WUR:
a). Inlet (fuel line between FD & WUR).
b). Outlet (fuel going to return line).
c). Vent (hose on top).
d). Vacuum line (side port).
e). Electrical plug.

Take a picture before removing the WUR because you might not remember it next time you install it back. Once you have done it, everything would be easy. Have you done any fuel pressure test?

boyt911sc,

Thanks, my WUR is good, my mechanic tested all fuel pressures. All within spec. I’m considering engine drop or CSI removal to address oil leaks from the TOD.

So it appears I need to remove the 5 mm Allen bolts and the electrical connection, and vacuum line at a minimum to get to the intake runner nuts on drivers side.

I’ll take many pictures and thanks for that and your other advice.

Oh and as I view other accolades about you, it is an honor to receive advice from you Tony on WUR!
