Although I actually prefer the headlights on the older one.

I'll chime in that there is something really special about the long hood cars from 70-73. The lighter weight can be felt in driving, braking, and handling. I also own a 2008 Cayman S and appreciate the newer cars but there is an intangible on the early cars that has to be experienced. You will know if it is right for you or not.

Rodsrsr- Awesome turbo car there. That's the idea have one of each.

Hi_FI- I hear ya. I bet it is a different thing to drive a super light weight. That is one reason why I was considering one.

Great feed back Pelicans!

In my personal experience, I would take the long hood. I love the GT3, and the posts above have listed it's many fantastic traits, but I think it's just too much for the street. If you really want to drive the car hard (or just a little hard), I think you would be hard pressed to find any roads that the GT3 could actually drive on at that level and still be safe/legal. It was built with the track in mind, and that's where it excels. In terms of the long hood, they have a bit more character, and you can really run them out on the back roads without getting into any trouble. I drove the tail of the dragon a bit ago in my SC. With my dad and I, plus all the crap I had with me since I was moving, the car was a bit over the GVWR, and it was still a blast to drive. That's like 3250 lbs and 180hp.

Hopefully my point makes it across. GT3 is a great car, but it's just too much to fully enjoy what it has to offer on the street alone.

I think so far only a couple are advocating for a GT3 and majority are in the camp with the long hood hot rod. Interesting. Again great feedback.
