15x10 Minites/Superlites

Hi,,

I have been searching for 15x10 Minilites. I contacted Superlite, apparently their factory is closed down? They still sell wheels but are being sold by the Allied Wheel Group. I received this message;

Around 5 years ago the factory in Australia closed and we now produce and own the brand. They are no longer made in Australia.

We also don’t offer a “GTR” race lightened version as they were prone to cracking so we offer a road and race tested wheel that is road legal while being as light as possible to meet standards for road use.

Are there any companies making these wheels in 5x30?

Thanks

Thanks - it looks like they are made in England. I am not sure how relevant it is to get wheels not made in China. I would guess that their wheel production has become much better over the years. The company that represents Superlite makes theirs in Thailand.

I don't care where it is made - I am interested in strength and possibly weight.

Thanks

Maybe take a look at these guys RS-Watanabe from Japan - they make a 15x12 for a 240Z, looks like they do custom work.

Thanks Vince. I contacted them to see if they make 5x130. I also want to know how they are made.

This is what the Minilite Wheel site says; Manufactured exclusively at our premises in the UK, Minilite wheels are ‘Low-Pressure’ die cast, in high grade aluminium alloy; machined on the latest CNC equipment, 100% pressure tested, and finally powder coated for maximum protection against the elements.

watanabe are great if you like waiting 9 months for wheels.
superlite stuff has been used in competition for years but not sure how good their casting is these days.

Superlite are not made in Australia, they are now made in Thailand. I would have no idea how good their casting process would be.
