I was thinking of cleaning the silencer with steelbrush and painting them with paint that can take 1000C of heat. Do you think the paint will stick to it, so that it won't burn away? This paint is silver in colour.

I paint mine matt black about once a year using 1500 degree paint from Discount Auto Parts. My muffler isn't stainless so it starts to show a few small rust spots from time to time. I guess I'll eventually replace it with stainless.

My suggestion would be to find some place locally and get it "Jet-Hot" coated. Or, if it is stainless, polish it up!
