Carrera trailing arm- monobail cartridge fit
 

This is tmy 86 Carrera which has monoballs in the rear trailing arms .

I would like to know if there should be this much play in-between the bracket and the trailing arm. Both sides look like this(exposed monoball) and since I do not have a comparison to a correct installation,I want to verify that these are installed correctly.
I have owned the car for 3+ yrs and noticed recently it when replacing the tarret sway bar bushings.
I have seen a few replacement rubber/sport bushing installation pics that show a snug fit in the bracket from side to side , but i have no visual reference for the correct fit of the monoballs to the trailing arm and bracket..

The pic below is of the passenger side trailing arm and the inboard side of the monoball/trailing arm.You can see the brass od of the cartridge between the bracket and banana arm.(the pic rotated 90 deg when I uploaded it for some reason)

Assuming the monoball is in there tight, that's not unusual. You are looking at the reducer sleeves that mate with the ball.

I believe I have similar gaps in my 1975 chassis. I think so long as the bolt is still torqued properly, you're fine.
