how to remove the speedo needle ?
Im trying to repair my '84 911 VDO speedometer but not sure how to remove the orange needle without breaking it. Is the needle just pressed on to the shaft? Does it just pull straight off ?

No, you can't just pull it off.
Its been a few years since I did mine but I believe you have to gently move the needle (holding the base) right to 170mph then left to 0 mph. After that, wiggle it slowly upward until it comes off. Best to search for the odometer gear replacement thread. It is covered there. |

I just repaired the speedometer gears on mine. It was stuck hard to the shaft, I as well thought it will break, but I kept pulling harder and then, pop!! off it came.
