Tire Mounting - Indianapolis area
Can anyone recommend an Indy area shop that does a good job of tire mounting. I’ve not had good luck finding a place that doesn’t scratch up the rims...

I'd suggest taking it to Tom Wood.

Considered that, but assumed they would not be interested in mounting tires they did not sell.

Quasi,
I have been in the process of building a completely custom ‘74 3.4 Coupe with Bob Farmer since November last year. Mr. Farmer recommended Auto Air in New Palastine (https://autoairandheatingrepair.com) and they did a great job on my stuff last month. I bought specific metal valve stems, wanted them to put the weight(s) on the back side, and NOT scratch the wheel in the process. The job was done perfectly.

The BEST place to take your wheels and tires for mounting and balancing is the kind of place that sells the 30" rims to those that like that kind of thing. They have the machines that won't take the bling off the rim.
