10 Inch Rear Flares

Interested in the ST style rear flares. I am specifically interested in a 10 inch flare. I know there is a replica flare that is close to the original ST, and GT racing sells a 9 inch rear flare.

Who makes a 10 inch fiberglass flare? If no one makes it, Can I make my fiberglass 930 flares smaller? I doubt it, what about reducing steel 930 rear flares?

Thanks for any input.

What do you plan to do up front ?
What opening profile are you after?

Want to do a steel set up without spending big $ importing flares from Europe? If you are ok with the turbo profile, get a pair of rear turbo flares and narrow them about an inch when you are welding them in place. A skilled metal guy can narrow them. You can narrow the front turbo flares to maintain the proportional look as well.
If your metal guy is efficient and works fast, he can reshape the vertical flange areas of the flares to round them out similar to a ST/ RSR profile

Thanks for the reply.

I am looking at the ST flare. I like the idea of running 8/9 wheel combo. Makes finding rubber easier/practical.

Looks like the early RSR front fenders will work. I need to figure out the rears.

How are they narrowed by one inch?

ST flares come from Europe. We have imported them for clients in the past. Pricing varies according to euro vs the dollar .
Rear: We have put weld up 10 x 15 fuchs, 10 x 15 minilites (we have a new pair on the shelf) under these cars with the ST flares
Fronts can handle up to a 9 x 15.
15" Michelin TB 15's are the way to go . Pirelli makes a classic line of tires, but they have a very square profile and more slick than street. There are also the P7 line- but usually more than the michelins

Narrowing the flares are no problem- you cut off an inch on the circumference where they weld to the body
BUT before doing that, you MUST install your intended wheel/tire choice on the car at the desired ride height. You can do a preliminary cut on the fenders for just enough clearance, Then overlay the new flares on the car to check dimensions and placement

Thanks for the replies, it is appreciated.

TB tires = $$$

8 and 9 inch minilites are more practical when it comes to getting tires.

They also fit better under the 10 inch flare when using non turbo trailing arms. 11 inch flares need wider rubber.

I have fiberglass 11 inch flares - but in my limited time working w/FG I can't see how they could be made smaller.

How are steel flares narrowed? Are they trimmed or are pieces removed?

Why is it always so challenging. I have cut my quarters for 11's. I will figure it out. I may just do 11 inch flares - it is only 1 inch. Probably not worth the effort to me to make 10's.
