Who wants Wayne to write this book?

Wayne, others have mentioned it. Will you consider a rebuild book on 901 and 915 tranny's? When can we expect it? :)

Hmmm, well let's see. If I did that book, it would be a 901/915/930/G50 book with four major sections. It seems like a neat idea, but I do have a few other projects on my plate right now (BMW 101 book, and possible 944 book or Boxster / Z3 book). Plus I think my wife wants me to stop writing books when we have kids (next year). Oh well, time will tell.

One of the big hurdles is getting MBI to shake loose $$$ for it. If a lot of people request it, then that would make it easier. That process worked for the new engine book (which really does exist!).

I can honestly say I'd part with the $30 to get the tranny book, if for no other reason than to truly understand how they are put together and the differences between models...

Yeah - she can want anything that she choses to. Having kids really doesn't take a lot of time, Dinner, a bottle of wine, maybe a weekend away. Now RAISING kids is something else again. No sooner will you sit down to start working on the book before...

*A diaper stinks
*Bottles need to be washed
* A little voice will appear behind you saying... "Daddy; I want to play Elmo on the computer" or
* Daddy, XXXX hit me! or
* Daddy, I'm hungry or
* Daddy, I'm board! or

and occasionally...
Daddy; are you taking the Porsche? I want to go with Daddy! I want to go with Daddy in the Porsche!

Hmmmmmmmmmm

Wayne - I already have the rebuild article setup for the 901.....

But, the _REAL_ volume is having the book cover the VW aircooled transmissions as well.

As BGCarrera32 said I'd be down just to gain more understanding. I can imagine it would be pretty involved though, having to be informative and technical is not easy.

I have no intention to rebuild my engine anytime soon, but I will buy the book as soon as it's available. When a rebuild book for transmission is available, I'll buy that also. As "BGCarrera32" says they're valuable "if for no other reason than to truly understand how they are put together and the differences between models..."

If you write it, we will come.

Come buy one, I mean.

I would buy one. And why write a BMW or 944 book? No one drives those things anyway. People rebuild 915s all the time. :rolleyes:

Aww,c'mon, 915's bullet-proof?:rolleyes: I gotta agree w/ old_skul. Then again, I remember all those stinking diapers raising twins.

Once? At band camp? Oh, nevermind...but I did happen to walk in a shop where a guy with knowledge was going through my gearbox. At that time it was going back together. He was placing stuff in a pan of hot oil, getting the parts to the right temp. My thought? DAMN!...sure glad I didn't try to do this myself...
