as I recall the long side of the bell crank sleeve goes toward the transmission. thing is it's not one size fits all. the throttle shaft from the bell crank at the transmission you note to the motor compartment bell crank can be a nightmare to get right in rod length adjustment throw be dammed! your sig states a 75 where as your question suggests mechanical injection may be in place. when going to carbs on 2 separate 3.oL motors getting the linkage worked out to achieve full throttle and idle was a chore. maybe the shape & throw of the bell crank at the tranny from a 75 may not tickle an MFI exactly.

oopps! see it's a 72! I guess my point is throttle linkage is like witching sticks that some can find underground pipelines and conduits with... some have it and some struggle. count me as a struggler...

linkage may not be correct

there are straight rods and ones with a curves does anyone know if the 72 is curved? i have a straight rod in there now,, I am 100% sure it is from the 72 as i removed it when i pulled the motor transmission and i although i have bought some parts here and there i am 99.9% certain that i never picked up another accerator rod.
thanks
