A simple question

I hear the words reseal a lot on pelican. But what does a reseal really mean. I just Read the words “ a quick reseal”. On a Porsche article. Sorry, I just would like to know. Thanks, nick

It's a phrase used in the early stages of 'engine rebuild denial'.

see also 'a quick repaint'.

A quick rebuild on a reseal that required a repaint because of a repair that had to be repeated from being replaced.

If you didn't get it from the amusing responses, it's when you pull an engine apart to stop leaks and fit new gaskets, but you don't do any machining or reconditioning or checking.

Can mean anything from a new crankshaft seal and oil tubes to a full reassemble with all new gaskets.

A "quick reseal" usually involves lots of RTV and no engine drop.:D

It also means that it "quickly" starts leaking oil again. Usually more than it leaked originally!
