Oil line length?
I have a 76 911s it has double header heat exchanger exhaust with no cross over. I replaced the hard oil line that goes across the back of the engine over to the tank. Today I went to reinstall the exhaust and the exhaust and the soft line between the hard line and the tank is in the way. The soft line really has to bend to get over to the hard line. So my question is are there different length hard lines? I looks like if the hard line went to to passenger side another 3-4 “ everything would be happy. Thanks

I'm not real familiar with the 2.7l mid year cars but if you are using the heat exchanger in the picture that oil line that goes around the back of the engine(also pictured) needs to be replaced. I think I recall seeing someone make the stock oil line work with some aggressive bending but I can't be sure.
Elephant racing has a bunch of diagrams on their page showing the various oil line configurations. Edit: If the line pictured isn't what you are talking about and you are having trouble fitting the new lines that is a common issue with the aftermarket oil lines. I started a thread about it when it derailed my SSI install

The exhaust on the ground in your picture was used on cars from the 60s to '74. The oil lines on these early cars went from the bottom drivers side of the motor, forward, then down and under the trans. Then depending on if you have a front mounted cooler with a thermostat in front of the passenger side tire or not can make a difference in the oil line.

The motor in the picture I posted has an oil filter there, doesn't matter, that is the oil line you want.
Here is that same oil line on a 73 top view. ![]()

Let us know if you get the correct part. Problem is there are a couple of different variations on the hose end. Also I don't know if your car has a front cooler or not.
The one shown in post #6 is with no front cooler, the hose hooks directly to the tank. I post #7 you can see part 3a will connect to the thermostat for the front cooler.
