3.0 head rebuild

Hey out there. I am in need of some advice. I purchased a 3.0 from prince frederick about 3 months ago. The engine is destined for my wifes 911 sooner or later but that aside here is what I ran into. The engine had broken head studs so I decided to tear it down to replace them. While in there I decided to have the guides replaced put new rings in etc. 5 of the heads checked out fine but the last one had major pitting around the valve seat. It appears that even some of the aluminum casting is gone also. I am not concerned with that as much as I teach welding and could easliy repair that my self. The concern is can the seats be replaced on these heads with a certain level of reliablity? and if so can it be done at a cost that would warrent this option. If not could some one send me in the right direction for 1 replacement.

Thanks
Ben

I bought mine from (Had a cracked valve guide boss) from EBS for $195. Dan Petchel 609-298-7040 may also be able to help you.

EBS claimed it would not be cost effective to try and repair the head. At the time Dan did not have what I needed. I would call Dan first then go to EBS if Dan can't help you.
