Question Oil Pressure gauge is sticking

Hi Fellas,

After months of addiction to this board, I have joined. So I thought I would start by adding a numb question. My oil pressure gauge does not work anymore untill I knock on the glass. It then springs to life and works normally again, untill the engine is shut down and restarted. It would be more reassuring to see it spring to life at the same time the engine does. It appears to be physically stuck inside the gauge itself. Does this mean the unit needs to be pulled apart or is there an easier way of solving this niggling problem.

Thanks a lot.
