massive air leak

Hi,

Me again (wish it wasn't). Continuing to trouble shoot my CIS high idle woes and have stumbled across what I think is the problem. I've checked all the obvious high idle CIS problems and everything is normal, fuel pressures are in spec, WUR and AAR are in spec. The symptoms again are after the engine reaches a certain temp i get a 1.6-1.8k idle that lasts until the engine reaches a certain temp. then returns to a nice steady 950rpm. Car has good power and torque etc. Engine had a split case rebuild by a reputable San Diego porsche mechanic and an oil change and valve job at 500 miles after that. The high idle symptoms only started after the valve adjustment and oil change. I just monitored engine warmup from cold and found a massive air leak between cylinder 5 and 6 that coincides exactly with the RPM rise. Wasn't present during initial warmup, and isn't present when the engine is at temp. I'm taking it to the mechanic tomorrow, he suspected a number of thing that i have eliminated now...all of sudden i feel like there was an error after the valve job? anyone have any ideas or thoughts??

It might help to post a picture of the leak (smoke, bubbles) so we can see the air. Is it off an intake runner, hoses between AAR/AAV, valve cover, etc. Certainly not a normal outcome of a valve adjustment or oil change.
