Identify unplugged cables...

On my new to me 88 911 Targa I found several cables unplugged but no were to plug them either. Being that everything seems to be functional I will assume that in its previous life some lazy mechanic or electrician when having an issue with some cabling, rather than pulling out the defective one and replacing it they just add another cable to replace it. Regardless, I wanted to see if people could identify the following cables:

1) unplugged cables from the frunk driver side:
Yellow/Black - Brown

Black/White- Brown

2) unplugged cable from the frunk passenger side (blue/black - brown)

3) unplugged cable from the driver side next to shifter (blue/ light blue - blue)

Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. Thanks in advance!

timmy2 will likely know and can surely help. but, does the car have cruise or headlamp squirters? often a less than fully optioned car will have all the frills of a loaded cars wiring harness. you can count of the brown wire in most all instanced to be ground in our cars.

Marc.... I had a couple in my 88 coupe. I assumed I had wiring and didn't have the option........

Thanks juanbenae and AG81. My car doesn't have cruise control or lights squirters so that will take care of 2 in the frunk. Hopefully timmy2 can help to identify the others. Thanks for pitching in!

be advised I simply used those as examples of what they could be.

is there another of the bluex2 harness connectors on the other side? heated seats possibly? they would likely not need a ground in the harness due to their tub mounting?? more speculation here.

Thanks Juan. Gotcha but it makes sense based on the explanation that all cars have the full harness.

The seat heater came to mind but back then you could option driver only? Saying that as only I see such cable on the driver footwell.

The not an option on your car theory is likely the most correct.
I’m not all that experienced with the ‘84 and newer wiring.
Porsche changed a ton of the wiring systems and connectors compared to the ‘83 and earlier cars.
To be honest, I haven’t had the time or resources to delve into the “new” cars too much.... :)

Thanks Dennis! I’ll PM you on a different question (I just saw your signature about harnesses)
