They are brighter, clearly. They are also brighter in the area that will be cast down the road ahead of you. I fail to see how anyone can look at that picture comparison and say there isn't a drastic improvement. They may splash some light to the sides but that doesn't prevent them from lighting up the path ahead better than the sealed beams.
Don't forget, you are pulling less amps so wiring and switch and alternator should be stressed less too. I have 964 h5 headlights in mine and would be interested in some LEDs. I mean, I hardly ever drive it at night but better light is always welcomed. anyone have experience with a h5 LED bulb? |
Because more light in foreground = less visiblity further ahead.
Adding a bunch of flood lights is going to make it APPEAR brighter and better, but in reality you won't be able to see as far. |
my LED light shine perfectly no glares to the side.I even walked ahead of it there is no blinding on opposite cars...again it is Hella lens as i have mentioned earlier...

This post talks about a ballast. Is this more like a Xenon upgrade? |
Oh yes, I forgot the obligatory quote from Daniel Stern.....with words like "BACKDAZZLE".......
Sounds just like high stereo audio reviewers making up words to describe sounds and effects that they imagine exist. |
