Gas pedal stuck

I have read previous posts where a gas pedal gets stuck while driving. Well, with me, when first starting the car in the morning I have to lightly tap the pedal a few times to loosen it up. The rest of the day it never reoccurs. Is this a lube job by the linkage near the gas pedal or linkage under the vehicle near the transmission?

Hi
Mine did the same thing.. I had to take the linkage a part to free up under near the transmission ..then lube
but again you might be able just spray good lubricant for corrosion or rusty part the will help

Darn, so this really happens. I wish I'd know this "event" really happens for my last court appearance.

Bill...so funny.....i did beat the court couple of times(in LA) for speeding but i had totally different excuse;-)

to long for this here..

bcgreen ...if you can look under the car where the throttle linkage goes through the sheet metal on the left side...sometimes it rubes against it...

3 sets of bushings. one set on pedal cluster bell crank. One set on transmission linkage bell crank. One on engine top bell crank near cylinder 3. Change them all. Upgrade to the self-lubricating brass variety for the win.

I had the gas pedal stick on my 85 911 twice.

one time I had been working on the intake and removed the AFM. when reinstalling I did not realize you need to set the clamp's screw out of the way of the throttle linkage. first time I floored it the linkage got caught on that clamp's screw. sorry but no picks.

second time I replaced the floor boards with alum from rennline. with out the throttle stop you could mash the gas pedal too far and actually bend the linkage in the pedal cluster and when floored cause pedal to stick.

+1
I had the bushing in the pedal go out while at 6000 RPM and full throttle, locking my gas pedal to the floor. Luckily, it was in 2nd gear and I only flatspotted my front tires.
Did you know that the brakes did not slow me down.......
