Megasquirt help, please have a look :)

I think I have it sorted out but what is this odd vacuum/hose contraption? It goes on my intake manifold, is it to control warm up? (Hard to see but it has 2 open ends, one is on right side and one in the middle with blue inside...)

Hmm, does it just loop around (see pic). Also what is it?

Based on your other thread, that first thing *looks* like an IAC, but it's not quite right, and it has no electrical connectors, so who know what it is.

The second pic is a Ford throttle position sensor (TPS) which can be/should be used as input to Megasquirt so it can calculate airflow. It should be a generic TPS output which MS can read.

You really need to bug the PO and get more details on what exactly you bought. That first contraption is some cobbled together stuff.

Definitely an IAC, the other picture shows the electrical pigtail:

One end will go to the bottom side of the throttle body, the other end should have some sort of air filter put on it. I would guess that it has all of those 90 degree fittings because someone wanted to mount it in a location where they couldn't get that heavy hose to bend tight enough.

You are awesome!!
Thank you Mike!

I am going to start wiring it up after I test that there are no fuel leaks. It's all kind of in the car.

That really seems an unusual IAC valve configuration. With a few of the sensors you've shown, it probably isn't MS1 even though you're using the Relay Board.

Have you visited the Megasquirt forum group? MSExtra. There's a ton of help there that can help you start to get your arms around this. Do you have the software to also monitor and make adjustments on a laptop?

good luck,

Yes I'm on the FB groups, the bitz mailing list and MSExtra. Doing lots of reading, finally moved it all into the car. I have the laptop, the software, but I am waiting for the Usb-> RS cable as my laptop is newer.

Sloowwlly! I'll be amazed if this runs haha!

I made a big mistake when I started as I didn't know to save the MS file before I set up my own. ( I purchase a used system from a very similar 911). When you do get hooked up that first time - save the existing.

good luck,
