PITA Job 2 (Cont): Headlight Sprayer Repare Tips
Finished the headlight washer/sprayer replacement job tonight.
The passenger side was relatively easy (if you consider blindly groping at small parts "relatively easy"). Didn't have to remove anything to get at it. Just reached up behind the front bumper, removed the old and replaced with the new one. Started into the driver's side the other night and found that it was inaccessable. I ended up removing the driver's side wheel, removing the bolts (2) that hold the washer fluid reservoir in place, moving it out of the way just enough to get my hand in, removing and replacing the sprayer just like the passenger side. Took about an hour and a half (2 & 1/2 beer PITA level, not bad considering from the looks of it I rated it at least a six pack). I have a tip for removing your old sprayer (assuming it's already broken): I couldn't get the old sprayer off because the nut that holds it in place was stuck (was able to remove the passenger side nut with my fingers). I ended up breaking the rest of the spayer lip off and pushed it down through the bumper (vice removing the nut and pulling the sprayer through the top of the bumper). This is definitely the way to go. I can't wait to drive tomorrow. I'm expecting at least a 12-15Hp increase out of this job ![]() Some pic's for proof.... Don't put it off, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Gordo ![]() ![]()
