Gauge

I have 75 911 with 0-140 psi oil pressure gauge. Did not read very accurate, so wanted to switch to 5 bar gauge. Bought new sending unit, installed, worked well, but just not accurate. But sweep seemed same as my Carrera. Bought 5 bar gauge from member here but it will not register pressure when running. Also the temp gauge reads full hot when not running and grounding the sending wire shows no difference. Any help appreciated.

I want to better understand your problem, maybe for the benefit of someone smarter than me about what is going on.

Is this sequence correct?
= Gauge seems inaccurate
= Replaced oil pressure sending unit
= The gauge continues to act as before - inaccurate BUT "works well"
= Install used 5 bar gauge and does not register at all

Going to leave the pegged Temp gauge aside from this.

Would you describe why you thought the gauge was inaccurate and what you mean by "sweep"? Did the old gauge work better after installing the new sending unit? If so, can you describe how? Finally, is the used gauge paired to the correct sending unit (if applicable), and is the gauge working or is it dead?

Good luck!

Sorry guys, getting older. I had the ground and gauge wires switched. All works good now.
