Anyone doing a DIY restoration in Phoenix?

Hi Pelicans,

I'm doing a full restoration on a 1972 911T, I'm in Phoenix. I feel like I'm on my own except for this community online.

I was wondering if anyone in Phoenix is doing a restoration, bare metal, metal, paint, mechanicals, etc. and would be interested in getting together to show each other and most importantly at least for me ask questions?

Currently I'm in the stage of welding, patch/rust repairs, so I'm at the start of the process.

Here are some pics....

Thanks!

Rodney

How I received my 911...

Ready for strip...

Removing the front date...

Replacing pan, inner fenders, battery boxes...

I'm in north Scottsdale and just starting reassembly of a '72 T targa... solid AZ car with new paint...

This is my first longhood though I'd had many 911's over the years and have had one of my 914's since new. I could take apart and reassemble a 914 with my eyes closed, but am learning a LOT on this 911...

Would be interesting to trade war stories... PM if interested.

I never joined because they used to charge for membership. I'm not sure when that changed. I did just join, but I feel like a newbie now over there, where when I'm Pelican I'm one of the old guys....

Anybody else want to get together!?!?

Don't plan to restore my 911 as it is highly original but do most of my own maintenance and repair work when I can. Very active Porsche community here in the Scottsdale/Phoenix, AZ area with plenty of owners who have experience and advice to share. Definitely come out to a PCA meeting or cars and coffee and char with other owners. You make fast friends.
