That's a really nice flat torque curve...... did it feel like it was lacking power until you got a dyno reading? It's just a number.

Jonny -

Given your deep research on your build I value your thoughts. The power and torque seem good but I am struggling with the deep drone at 3000+ revs in 5th gear. Maybe it's the SSI's, maybe it is the M&K exhaust. I am stumped.

On a different topic...

I am struggling with wiring new Euro turn signal into the car so I can use the "position lights" as driving lights via the fig light switch. More fun...

If you haven't, I'd think about a lightweight clutch and flywheel. Really wakes the car up.

I'd talk to M&K. I'm sure they'd be able to set you up with something, maybe even inserts or something for the tailpipes or the inlets.

I tried an M&K 2/2 with SSI’s on my stock ‘82, but it had pretty bad drone below 3k rpm. I had previously tried a stock ‘74 2/1, but it was too quiet.

I liked the M&K weight savings and build quality (and based on forum feedback), so I sold the 2/2 and tried an M&K 2/1. The M&K 2/1 has been on for almost 8 years now - and I still love it.

Something definitely seems off with your dyno #’s. After I had my completely stock 3.2 85 Carrera motor transplant converted to EFI (AEM Infinity) with PMO ITB’s and COP’s in my 73 911, it recorded 235 HP at the wheels and a really nice flat torque curve of right around 220. Keep in mind this motor was otherwise completely stock and not rebuilt with ~70k miles on it.
