Help fitting new latch panel and pan to inner fenders

Hi Everyone,

I'm trying to piece together the front end of my 1972 911T. I'm working with one original right inner fender, and new latch panel, pan, and left inner fender.

My first problem is that the latch panel, either side will not fit inside the inner fender sections.

My second problem is trying to figure out how the three pieces go together, is the pan on the inside of the latch panel or the outside, what about where it meets with the inner fender.

Does anyone of clear pictures of where the pan, latch panel, and inner fender meet? Specifically at the bottom corner right in front of the batter boxes?

Further, there is going to have to be some trimming and shaping on the panels any suggestions would be helpful...

Thanks,

Rodney

I’m not good at expressing words so hopefully the pictures will help.
The latch panel will need massaging to get to fit properly. It sits in front of your suspension and yet inside your inner fenders. There should be a slit in the fenders and the latch panel where they can slide together. Welds will go along the seam and where it gets contact in the front. Both vertical and horizontal. If you are missing one inner fender it should be easy to slide the latch panel in place. I’m on the road till Thursday but if I get time I’ll attach more pictures.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1542672078.jpg

Hi Seafeye,

You are the man! I should have just emailed you. Thank you for the pics. I will go at it tomorrow with a hammer! I need some of those vice clamps you are using in the front. It looks like you also had to trim the top left and right seal channel as well.

Thanks,

Rodney
