The actual car aside, I’m not nearly as far out of pocket as you’d think. So I’m standing by my claims of ‘low budget’
My tricks thus far have been to sell unused bits, obsessively troll the classifieds for bargains, and do everything myself. Literally everything.

I pulled all the interior and ordered a carpet kit from Autos International (there down the street from me).

"While I was in there" I decided to pull the pedal cluster. Glad I did. The clutch clevis was not long for this earth -

Pedal rebuild kit, clutch pedal shaft and clutch cable added to my "project list"

The frunk is a mess, partial jamb re-spray to silver, partial black touch-up to hide missed spots and lots of yellow around the fuse panel, battery and tank area. I want the frunk to look really good, no carpet.

Tomorrow I'll start prepping (clean, scuff, tape, mask) and hopefully Sunday I'll spray SEM primer and two part, single stage custom mixed rattle can. I've never had great success painting. Wish me luck.

Carpet came in, Another days project.

Wow--that would have been an unfortunate failure to have in the middle of nowhere.

BTDT too!

We ought to form a buying a bug support group, with a tracking a 944 subgroup.

Thanks!

I'm excited to get it in, but want to get all the tunnel & pedal related projects done first.

Prepped the frunk and squirted two coats of primer. I'm concerned that the black paint a PO used might be POR 15. In a couple places the primer is spider web cracking

Not sure what to do about that.

Thanks Erbe. I know it will be awhile before I'm enjoying the drive, but fortunately I'm one of those nuts that enjoys build

Two coats of primer and three coats of 2K rattle can. Few hiccups, but think it will turn out just fine.

Waiting on a few parts for the blower assy needed to complete the frunk. So far it's turning out pretty good.

When I saw that front shot, I have to admit I got a little sad. I know you mentioned that the car was originally yellow in your first couple posts or so - and since I like silver so much on a 911 (mine originally was silver), I figured it was the way to go. But boy, it would really have looked sweet in the original yellow. Anyways, you are really taking control on this project and it's coming along quite nicely. Way to go.

I know exactly what you mean. I really like silver 911's (red interior even better). And wouldn't be as excited about yellow. But... I feel guilty covering up the remnents of the yellow. I couldn't bring myself to do a color change like this, but selfishly am glad someone else did
