sideways photos
just noticed on my desktop the images are sideways, but on my i-phone they are straight. Any knowledge of how to avoid this from happening when posting from i-phone?

The iPhone’s camera is up when the camera lens is in the upper right when facing the shot.
Turning any other way will post on a different view. The iPhone self corrects when you view on the camera and phone. |

I use a free app called Snapseed to do most of the stuff that is impervious to the normal corrective routes. - also has some cool enhancing features.

You’re definitely not the first person to have this happen in our forums. What I’ve suggested to members, whether using their computer or mobile, is to open the photo and spin it 360 degrees to its original/correct view and then resave – everyone said that this resolved the issue when posting. Let me know if you run into any other problems and I’ll be glad to help you out.

I go into my phone and edit the picture. Just rotate it 2 degrees. Then save. It will appear correct after that. Just another way to skin a cat. Stupid iPhone.

So I’ve tried that but then it’s sideways when I look from my phone. Would it also be sideways for others that are viewing from their phone? |

I'm not so sure that it is all the iphones problem. My question is why when I download the photos from my iphone to my pc and save them they are all in the right position? My PC never has them in the wrong position. I personally believe this is an issue with the website's software rotating a picture that does not need to be rotated. And my final question is why is there not an issue with the mobile devices. I believe Pelican could do something on their side to fix the issue as it is being addressed correctly with their mobile websites. I'm sure someone with more knowledge on this subject would be able to figure out what the issue is... Any website gurus out there?

It's definitely an I-Phone issue, yes they look right when they are saved to your PC, but a subsequent upload to Pelican shows them sideways.
The only fix I've found is to open them in an edit window on the PC(even the basic Widows photo viewer has this function) then save them or save a copy, either will then upload correctly to Pelican
