Now part of the club...
Driving to work today after having a frustrating morning someone in a white convertible Carrera gave me a wave. After nearly three weeks owning my 911SC, this was a nice little way to brighten my day. Thanks, whoever you are...
BTW, the 911 is now my daily driver. The morning's frustration was due partially to my '99 Dodge Neon R/T, which was going back into the shop. Who says driving a Porsche is more expensive?

I've owned my SC since last summer and finally had my first anonymous prideful moment. We had glorious weather this weekend in NJ, up to 50! Took my pride out for a ride and on to the gym for a Sunday morning workout.
Guy in the lot putting his daughter in the car watched me the whole time I pulled in, pulled in facing him, he waited came over and just wanted to talk about my car. First words were, oh wow you just don't see these around here that much, what year, how many miles, original paint....on and on, so many questions.. It was just so great to boast about her to a stranger....smiled the whole day. Adam

I do what my dad use to do. When you see Porsche comming towards you from the other direction, I turn my lights on and off, like a wave type thing.

Day-brightening = me filling my little 86 coupe and next to me a guy pulls up in a 92 (or 93?) pristine Black RS America [had to be one of the best looking cars I've ever seen]. He comes right on over and spends a deal of time talking enthusiastically to me about MY car! I'm sure I was drooling, so he was just trying to me me feel good about my white little ordinary 911. made my day.......
Definitely a cool club to be a member of. todd =-=-=-=-=-=- 86 cpe |

Welcome to the club!
I've put nearly 20,000 miles on my SC in the 3 years that I have owned it, and knock on wood it has never left me stranded. I would drive it daily if it had more cargo space. |

Sunday was a beautiful day in the DC area, so I was out checking out some of the backroads. Pass a Boxster - flash lights - nothing. Pass another one - another flash - nothing. Pass a Carrera 3.2 - lights on at the same time. At least someone gets it. I wonder what those Boxster guys think when all those old 911s are flashing them? Oh, well... they'll catch on eventually, or better yet sell the car to someone who does.

Chris:
There is a Boxster virus in our area . . . . I have NEVER in 2 years had a boxster driver in this area acknowledge or return a wave or flash. Just isn't in the blood, I guess.

One out of every Two households ends in divorce
3 out of 4 dentists recommends Trident gum 9 out of 10 Canadians are friendly Isn't there some kind of statistic about a man who drives a womens car? Next time, don't flash your lights, but wave using a very limp wrist action

the 911 rig is an Ashdown ABM-500 head and EuphonicAudio VL110 cabinet. My Epifani 2-10 cabinet (the usual cab) will fit in the back but it is really tight getting it in/out. Running 1 VL110 won't cut it for a rock gig, but works suprisingly well for electric jazz. The Zons are the easy part, going up front.
But just like your SVT cab, the doghouse won't even come close. |

When I first read the "bass rig" I had visions of someone towing a Ranger bass boat behind their 911!

A Porsche is a Porsche regardless of the name. Porsche drivers are not all the same. Keep the wave/flash faith. It will payoff someday.
