SC Fan Housing Strap Engine Decals

Can't seem to find this engine decal anywhere. Its the one on the fan housing strap.

Any tips on getting that strap out of its channel would be helpful too. I can probably get it out but I can't see a nice painted one going back in. Paint in place?

I read about six posts on strap removal and so it seems it is just a PITA.
Anyway - decal source?

My strap came out pretty easily. The fan/alt and housing were removed prior. I did have to remove the distrib. to gain more clearance for the big end to pass through. Getting it back in doesnt look to be too hard. I wouldnt paint it though...will definitely get scratched up, espically on the outside. Try polishing rather than painting.

Your local Porsche dealer can source most of the decals in the engine compartment.

Local Porsche dealer says that the engine fan housing strap decal is no longer available. They called Porsche NA and checked - or so they say!
Really?
I see most of the other decals are available.
Sources?
Thad

Strap

I agree, removal and re-install is just a PITA, and takes a bit
of push here, tug there. I had mine polished, am very pleased
with the look. Saw a pic on here the other day where the
word 'P O R S C H E' was on the strap in black letters. Looked
good to me, might be an alternative to the decal.

I got that decal for my '77 from the local Porsche dealer for about $20.

The strap was already out as part of a rebuild.
