72 911 - Elephant Oil Cooler install question

I have an email into Chuck at Elephant Racing, but suspect I won't hear from him until Monday and I'm anxious to make headway in the garage....raining all weekend here! I an installing Elephant's complete Carrera oil cooler kit and this car never had a factory front fender cooler. My question pertains to the lower 'L' bracket that mounts the cooler to the tub...for neither love or money can I find a way that it would work as supplied. Has anyone done this install on a 911 of that vintage so I can PM for your thoughts/experience? Thank you.

I did it on my car that did not come with a front cooler (75). You can peruse my thread to find install details. I test fit it many times and looked at other photos. Then I drilled holes and installed Riv-nuts.

You must relocate the horns to get clearance for the fan and cooler. I had no clearance issues on 15 and 16" wheels but ran a lower profile *but wider tire than stock.

I don't know if you have seen this Pelican article on mounting the oil cooler. It may help you.

Thank you both....Chuck did reply to my email (so nice of him on a Saturday) and has answered my questions. Seems the 74+ cars have a different inner fender/tub configuration because of the later bumper shock mounts and therefore the need for me to make some modifications/adjustments to how the "L" bracket installs. I did look at several posts before sending out my SOS, but none seemed to apply to my 72 era car. Thank you again.
