Was there an 'E' made in 1974?
If, in fact, it is a '74 Carrera, you certainly do have a 'sport' suspension. Boge = black strut & dust cover. Bilstein = green strut & dust cover. Koni = red components. Easiest way to see if you have a 'sport' suspension on an early 'E' is to see if both ends have an anti-sway bar with factory hardware. Bill K

Also the BOGE comfort strut housing is BIGGER diameter, and labelled Boge... attached. the gland nuts are also different ( male vs female).
