Scart Sport Sound Mufflers- Affect Horsepower?

Does anyone have a Scart Muffler 2 In 1 Out/Sport Sound or Silencer 2 In 2 Out - Dual Tailpipe 70MM Rear/Sports Sound installed? Aside from the sound and fit, are you happy with the performance after installation? Have you noticed any loss of horsepower? I have a 2.4L with SSI stainless exchangers I'm considering installing one on.

Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike,

I had one on my 2.7 hot rod motor, I felt that I gave up some mid range for some top end but that was gut feel, but I couldn’t hear myself think most of the time when driving with that muffler on the car so who knows

Cheers,
Harry.

Realize that recorded sound files are somewhat useless since playback levels can be adjusted from quiet to loud. A reference point is needed.

I suggest loading a sound pressure or decibel (dB) level app onto your smart phone, then show those numbers so a more accurate sound level can be reproduced on the receiving end.

Mate, I think you can just take my word for it, it’s bloody loud! The sound levels on the video I posted were not altered in any way. I did measure the dB at idle once, from memory it was over 100 dB.

Another video for you below.

Cheers,
Harry.

I recently installed a SCART Super Sound 2-in-1-out on my 3.0L SC with SSIs. The Exhaust was modified by SCART to work with the larger displacement. I found that I gained mid-range and top-end power. The sound is to die for. YMMV.

You might lose your hearing from the sound pressure levels.

I measured over 100dB with the Porsche RSR at the most recent LBGP. If you're not wearing ear plugs at 100dB, you're a better man than I.
