SC Clutch Pedal Return Stop Question
What am I missing here? Picture is of the back side of my '78 SC clutch pedal. I just replaced my helper/omega/horseshoe spring, adjusted clutch, and things didn't feel right, so started looking at the clutch pedal mechanism. (Return spring is off in the picture) My question is, how is the pedal stopped on the return stroke? Mine looked like it just hit the floor where the return spring attaches. There is a peg sticking out to the right of the pedal that looks like a stop, but it doesn't come near the part behind it. In the picture, I've put a piece of hose over it (circled in red), and it sort of hits the stop when released now, but it seems like a part is missing. Searching for clutch pedal stop, I find a piece that looks like it's intended to stop the pedal on the in stroke. Any ideas?

you are missing on your pedal cluster a large return spring. It goes on bottom of the clutch pedal...
Ivan http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1280180875.jpg here is a reading how go about it http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/555346-911-clutch-return-spring-conquered.html |
It hits the floor. When you put the firewall floorboard on there is an adjustable pedal stop built into the firewall board.

also,if you look closely you are missing the stop with the rubber..it is broken off.

Thanks Ivan, that's it! The stop with the rubber on it is missing! Looks like I need 925 423 062 00 Bearing Tube and 911 423 391 02 Protective Strip. Under 30 bucks, but looks like pedals are coming out... ugh! (I have the return spring, took it out to try to see how the return stop works, reinstalled using small nuts like in the picture)
