Targa Bar question

Hello,

I'm installing the targa bar on my project,
but i'm not sure of the position of the chrome strip underneath.
It is not fixed in position with the speed nuts yet,
but should it go partly under the bar?

This is how it looks:

Thanks in advance!

Kind Regards,
Johan

If I remember correctly there should be a notch in the trim piece so the bar can sit flush to the body with trim going around it not under it.

There is indeed a notch in the trim piece, but the trim piece is too close to the targa bar to be able to use the notch.

The trim piece is mounted the way it shoud using the self tapping screws under the
targa window seal, so no way to move it further outward.

I can not get the targa bar closer to the body, on the side of the door it is held
with the 3.9x9mm self tapping screws and on the window side, it is flush against
the window rubber.

PS: both sides look the same

Johan, there should be a plastic spacer washer on each of the four targa bar studs that space it up from the paint and (ideally) slightly above the trim piece underneath (though I can't find it illustrated in the PET).

Here's how mine looks. There's a half-fingernail width between the two pieces, with the trim piece sitting outside (not under) the bar.

I hope that's helpful.

Thanks Dru!

I'm going to install the side windows next week
and the door trim piece, maybe then will be clear what's going on.

(whether the problem lies with the trim piece or the targa bar)
